Just like the full size version, the Le Trap Mini Sluice is made of light weight, wear-resistant, high impact ABS plastic (green or blue). It is 10.25 inches wide and 30 inches long and weighs only 1 pound. Ideal for backpacking! The riffles are designed with a two-step ramp which allows the sluice to recover fine gold without vibrating or the use of carpet, matting, or miners moss. Clean lines and the lack of any removable riffles or carpet allow for very quick clean up. Most gold is caught within the first 4 drop riffles.
With the Le’ Trap Mini ™ sluice box you don’t need to have fast running water. In the faster water, simply angle the sluice at a flatter angle, around 5 to 7 degrees. With slower water, you can angle the sluice slightly more. This mini sluice runs really flat and processes the gold really well. The flared riffle design causes the water flow to slow as it passes through the sluice, causing a low pressure area for gold to easily drop easily, resulting in optimum gold recovery.
